Here at inthemix we’re on the verge of peeing our pants with excitement, as next month the mighty Soulwax hit Australian shores for another live tour, this time as part of the Parklife festival.
The band, who were last here for the V Festival in early 2007 with their Nite Versions show, are also about to drop a highly anticipated live CD/DVD, appropriately titled Part Of The Weekend Never Dies. It documents their grueling global tour regime that’s seen them playing just about everywhere over the past three years.
The documentary part of the release was filmed at over 120 shows throughout Europe, Japan, US, Latin America and even Australia! Directed by Saam Farahmand, it’s split into two parts; the behind the scenes debauchery of the Soulwax world tour, and then the full aural assault of their Nite Versions live show.
To mark the release some exclusive preview screenings will be held in Sydney and Melbourne this September, so if you fancy seeing all the action on the big screen be sure to mark these in your diary. Tickets are available to buy from inthemix for only $7 if you’re an ITM-VIP, otherwise it’s $12. Get in quick, it’s the perfect Parklife warm-up!
Soulwax live album screenings:
Tue Sep 9 – Rooftop Cinema, Swanston St, Melbourne – 7pm for 7.30pm screening (UPDATE – SCREENING IS NOW CANCELLED!)
Wed Sep 10 – Chauvel Cinema Paddington, Sydney – 8.45pm for 9pm screening
Check out the trailer for Part Of The Weekend Never Dies here on ITM, and remember to stay tuned to www.inthemix.com.au/parklife for all the latest on this year’s tour!
