CHANGE CITY :
Reigning world #1 DJ Armin van Buuren is set to return to Australia early in 2009, headlining Queensland’s Summafieldayze festival alongside previously announced heavyweight electronica duo Underworld.
The announcement of van Buuren for the festival will come as a surprise to many considering he was here only a few months back, however for his numerous fans around the country it’ll no doubt serve as the perfect way to welcome in the new year. 2008 has been a massive year for Armin, especially in Australia as he debuted his legendary ‘Armin Only’ events for the first time outside of Holland in Sydney and Melbourne. The shows were sold out arena spectaculars, and he clearly enjoyed his time here to be coming back so soon! Check out this special episode of inthemix.tv, where Armin let us go onstage with him while he rehearsed for ‘Armin Only’ at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
Summafieldayze is set to hit Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast, Saturday January 3rd, supported by inthemix. Joining Underworld and van Buuren, you’ll also be able to catch legendary house producer Eric Prydz and fellow Dutch trancer Ferry Corsten. It’s an amazing line-up, so expect tickets for this one to fly out the door!

this news came out of no-where! When i saw the future entertainment page last night, i felt high i was that happy that armin was on the lineup. Not 2 mention ferry as well, this is the BEST summafield lineup ive EVER seen. Lets just hope there is no rain preceding the event this year. Cannot w8!

AVB's website says he tours Asia from Novemeber - i don't think he'll go all the way back to LA then come back again to the region for New Year's... so i'm sure he'll be at Sensation!

Fear not... FD09 is the premier event for syd... id say the line up will be predominantly similar to SFD (being that those high profile Djs will be in the country)... there will be a few suprises im sure... they will announce it when they want to... and you will like it!

wats awesome about this is in qld we never get massive good venues for trance acts for whatever reasons and are always jealous of syd and melb cos they get the full proper shows played how they should be. so hopefully this sets a precedent to prove we could maybe host bigger tour shows in the future. also i do think that its going to be a tough call between parklife and summafield because they are rad for different reasons. so they can fight it iut at our viewing and listening pleasure!!!!
