For those who like to rock… Trent Reznor and his band of merry men have been announced for next year’s Soundwave Festival, which will tour the country in February and early March. Nine Inch Nails have undergone something of a renaissance in recent times, Reznor breathing new life into the band having been liberated from the constraints of his major record label record deal.
Not a festival for the faint at heart, Soundwave serves up some of the biggest names in metal, punk and rock. The 2009 line-up is undoubtedly its biggest on record, and alongside headliners Nine Inch Nails you’ll be able to catch reformed grunge icons Alice In Chains, the always cheeky Bloodhound Gang, System Of A Down side-project Scars On Broadway and many more.

That's a rather large lineup - but after crowning Soundwave 2008 the WORST festival I've ever been to I'll be holding out for sideshows from my favourite bands.

Soundwave 2008 was the most poorly organised event I've ever been to. No stage names, no time table took 2 hours to get into the damn place. The only good things goin for it was the music and the abundance of portaloo's.

soundwave this year was awesome, even tho it was the day after future music, it was way better becos i could actually hear the music. honestly, i cant remember hearing much at futures: i was in front of the speakers for elite force and i could hear myself talk, and chems sounded like static on a radio from where i was standing. fucking noise restrictions. but NIN helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll yeh!

I've gone onto the NIN website and I cant seem to access the Soundwaves Festival website, but does anyone know if this will hit NZ? By February next year I'll be over there but I refuse to miss NIN!!!
