inthemix | News | Break The Bank DJ comp offering $7k in prizes

inthemix have teamed up with The Bank Hotel in Newtown and SameSame.com.au to present the inaugural ‘Break The Bank’ DJ competition, a souped up comp with a total prize pool of over $7,000.

The winner of the competition will take home a heap of prizes, including a 12 month contract with DJ Company “The Groove Academy” and a residency at The Bank Hotel. Anyone can enter, as long as you’re over 18 and have not held a regular residency at a venue. “The reason I’m so excited about this competition is the showcasing and ability to raise young talent through our venue, where music is such a major component and drawcard to our Hotel,” says Jason Ryan from the Bank Hotel.

It’s not just up-and-coming DJs that are going to get a kick out of this. Every Thursday night in the Velvet Room a host of aspiring DJ superstars will be strutting their stuff on the decks in the hope of taking out the grand prize. Heats start on Thursday October 16, and run up to the Grand Final on Thursday December 11 where judges will pick the winner based on mixing ability, choice of tracks, crowd response and stage presence.
