GQ Men Of The Year 2008: DJ Nominees
Each year GQ Magazine puts together their list of nominees for their annual Men Of The Year awards. The 2008 candidates were recently announced, and in amongst the Hollywood superstars like Hugh Jackman and Eric Bana, media identities like Merrick & Rosso and Hamish & Andy, and sportsmen like Cadell Evans and The Wallabies (yes, the entire team…), we spied a few notable mentions in the DJ, Band/Solo Artist and Breakthrough Artist categories.
To be perfectly honesty, we didn’t actually know there was a DJ category, so we were quite surprised – but proud, of course! – to see our 2008 Sony inthemix50 #1 Tydi up for the title, alongside Grant Smillie, Ajax, Sam La More and The Potbelleez. Not to be outdone, in the Band/Solo race there’s Sam Sparro, Pnau, Cut Copy and The Presets, while one-time Bodyrocker Kaz James scored a nomination in the Breakthrough category. That’s not all, however, as Daimon Downey of Sneaky Sound System popped up in the Man Of Style group, while Good Vibrations Festival head honcho Justin Hemmes received a nomination in the Entrepreneur field.
If you’d like to vote in the GQ awards you can do so at gq.com.au. You might yourself a Volvo S80 V8 in the process. Wouldn’t that be nice!
