Overnight inthemix was contacted by the Spoonz Music Group, the ‘Authorized Agent’ for the all-girl hip hop outfit, and they were quite implicit that everyone should stop buying tickets for the Salt N Pepa tour right now. So, yeah, put that credit card away!

“Please post this article as soon as possible to inform the public and the fans that they should discontinue purchasing and or selling Salt N Pepa tickets, for the tour being promoted is totally false and are being misled,” the statement read. “Salt N Pepa would love to come to Australia in the near future, only with true and credible promoters.”

In case you’re wondering what it takes to be a ‘credible promoter’, the statement also thought necessary to include the reasons why this tour had been called off:

1. Salt N Pepa has not received there 50% deposit to secure the tour from Promoter

2. Round-trip flights from the US to Aus haven’t been booked for the Salt N Pepa travel party along with hotel confirmations, visa’s, and the remaining balance of the full guarantee amount to Salt N Pepa. (Keep in mind Salt N Pepa agreed and were scheduled to leave the US October 28th 2008.

If you’re left feeling a little miffed about the cancellation, have no fear. “Salt N Pepa still plan on touring Australia in the near future, we just have to make sure that it is with a legitimate and reputable company.”
