Check out the ITM pics of NERD at the Smirnoff Experience in NYC alongside Nas and Spank Rock!

Future Entertainment have announced that Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo will bring their N*E*R*D live act to Australia in March, 2009, for their first ever ‘major concert tour’. There’s no official word as yet, but it’s got us here at ITM pretty confident that N*E*R*D will also be on board for the Future Music Festival national tour the very same month – as was the case with the Chemical Brothers earlier this year (confirmation of their arena shows came before the announcement of their place on the Future Music Festival bill for 2008).

Set to play shows in Sydney and Melbourne, N*E*R*D’s tour comes after a huge year in 2008 with the release of their third album Seeing Sounds. Outside of N*E*R*D Williams and Hugo have a well established reputation as production outfit the Neptunes, having worked on all manner of chart smashing rap, RnB, pop and rock hits, including Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and No Doubt.

NERD tour dates:

Wed Mar 4th – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Thu Mar 5th – Hisense Arena, Melbourne

Will NERD join Lifelike for the Future Music Festival in 2009? Stay tuned to ITM for updates!

I thought Faithless was doing it? That sucks, I and most people I know dont like N*E*R*D. Since when was Rock Hip-Hop Fusion considered a suitable genre for Future Music Festival. NERD? Move on, Bring Faithless Please!

while N*E*R*D* are a quality act, i think the majority of punters going to future music festival are there for electronic music. they might not get the normal reception they are used to as everyone at future music festival will be there for trance, house,

Hisense Arena, mmm dont know how that will go down. N*E*R*D will rock it out but I wonder how the electro/house crowd will take it.

I don't think it's FMF with NERD at Hisense. This is a separate show. Either way I'll be there!
