Field Day 2009 has been dealt another blow, with Denmark’s finest Trentemoller pulling out of the NYD festival in Sydney. He joins Roger Sanchez, who cancelled on the event a few weeks back, having instead accepted an offer to play NYE in Germany. Sanchez’s agent claimed it was a simple booking blunder, however Fuzzy weren’t so forgiving in their official statement. “We are incredulous that this massive a mistake could have been made by an agent and act at this level,” they said at the time.
Back to the topic at hand, however, Trentemoller’s cancellation comes as a result of “serious personal issues.” It’s not all doom and gloom though, as Fuzzy have added a raft of new international and local acts to the Field Day bill. Joining Eric Prydz, who will now play Field Day in place of Sanchez as well as Shore Thing on NYE, the NYD party will also feature US nu-ravers Walter Meego, antipodean pop-princess Ladyhawke, German tech maestro Oliver Huntemann, the Bag Raiders live, JD Samson of Le Tigre, Mission Control and Canyons. There’s also the promise of ‘more to come’, so keep your eyes glued to inthemix for updates.
Tickets for Field Day are still available from Fuzzy.com.au.
