Now entering its third year on the Australian festival calendar, the V Festival has announced their first round line-up for the 2009 tour. Having always featured a few bands that would appeal to the dance and club crowd, it’ll come as a surprise to many that the 2009 bill is entirely void of any big name international acts for the ITM audience.

If you’re into your rock, pop and indie then take a look at the line-up below, with The Killers heading the bill, joined by Snow Patrol and the Kaiser Chiefs. However, if you were hoping for cutting edge electronica or dance acts… at least you know that in 2009 V isn’t the festival for you!

V Festival 2009 line-up:

THE KILLERS
SNOW PATROL
KAISER CHIEFS
ELBOW
DUFFY
LOUIS XIV
THE DØ
TAME IMPALA
THE TEMPER TRAP
CANYONS

V Festival 2009 tour dates:

Sat Mar 28 – Sydney, Centennial Park
Sun Mar 29 – Gold Coast, Avica Resort
Sat Apr 4 – Melbourne, Showgrounds
Sun Apr 5 – Perth, Claremont Showgrounds

Tickets go onsale Friday November 28th.

What a terrible lineup. I thought that because BDO lineup was so puss, we'd see something big at V. Killers are absolute shite nowadays. JJJ played there new song once and it got such bad feedback that it rarely gets played anymore.

pretty ordinary first cut - they may struggle to get people to buy with the sheer number of cometing festivals this year!

i'm with you Kone, the last 2 V fests have been some of the most enjoyable festivals i have been to. Good crowd, well organised and all that, so i thought next year would be an absolute definite. But i am truly disappointed in this lineup. so bummed...

agree with Grenno. The first year with groove armada, 2manydjs, soulwax, beck, the pixies was by far the most outstanding

WTF, last year was awesome.. smashing pumpkins, queens of the stoneage, air, modest mouse, CSS, the rakes? How can you disagree with that. This is the first lineup, you cant tell me that the arctic monkeys are bigger headlines that the killers =P Birds

I was hoping this line-up was going to be awesome but totally bummed.. Im already seeing Tame Impala at two other festivals surely they dont need to repeat bands all the time.
