Announced as headliners of the Playground Weekender festival in New South Wales, Scottish veterans Primal Scream won’t be neglecting the rest of the country. Led by the powerhouse presence of Bobby Gillespie, the band will play its first headline shows down under in nine years.

In the time between visits, Primal Scream has continued to make politically-urgent albums spanning electro, rock, alt-pop and psychedelica. Their latest, Beautiful Future, sees Gillespie and co. still firing. Expect a live show that’s nothing less than incendiary…after all, this is the band responsible for Screamadelica.

Primal Scream makes its long-awaited return to our shores in February.
