Stoners worldwide were left crying into their bucket bongs in August last year when it was announced that throwback Aussie rockers Wolfmother had split. The news came immediately after their less than enchanting headline set at Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass festival, but it soon emerged that afro-adorned frontman Andrew Stockdale would continue to fight the Wolfmother fight alone. Axl Rose eat your heart out!
After six month hibernation period it seems Stockdale has amassed a new posse of musicians to join him on his rock’n’roll quest, and if online murmurs are to be believed the man stepping up to fill the position of drummer is none other than Dave Atkins of Queensland funksters the Resin Dogs. Fans won’t have to wait long to find out the truth as some ‘secret’ Wolfmother come back shows are scheduled for this weekend in Sydney and Brisbane, with the band performing under the name White Feather.
If you’re intrigued and want to know more you can check Wolf Feather/White Mother – featuring Dave Atkins on the drums, perhaps? – at one of the following gigs this weekend:
Feb 6 – The Valley Studios, Brisbane
Feb 8 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
