One of Sydney’s finest and most technically proficient DJs – not to mention a longtime fave of the ITM community – Mo’Funk returned from an extended trip abroad late in 2008, having held down a residency at Pacha in Ibiza throughout the northern summer as well as playing gigs across Europe and the US.

Along the way Mo’Funk caught the attention of the world’s finest (and, err, only?) ‘club cabaret’ outfit the Cuban Brothers. Having made such an impression on the Cubans, it should come as no surprise they’ve invited him to take up the position as their DJ on the Good Vibrations tour nationwide this month.

“Los hermanos return to the red earth with the young Peruvian brother on the boards, you do the maths! Silly fresh,” said Miguel Mantovani – aka Uncle Miguel – of the Cuban Brothers. “Uncle Miguel’s benevolent embrace has reached out to Maurizio Mo’Funk to join la familia fiesta and release the kracken in the correct manner.”

So, if you’re at Good Vibes watching the Cubans this month and you spot a familiar face up onstage, it’s our man Mo’Funk. Give him a wave and tell him we said hi!
