It’s certainly been a momentous 18 months for The Presets, solidifying their position as a musical force to be reckoned with following the release of their critically and commercially acclaimed sophomore album. Apocalypso topped several ‘album of 2008’ lists – including right here on inthemix – and it also scored them several ARIA awards.

Fresh from rocking the mainstage at Good Vibrations last month, before Kim and Julian take a well earned rest from the spotlight and lock themselves away to begin work on album number three they’re heading out on one last tour. True to form, it’ll be their biggest ever headline jaunt around the country, playing arena-sized shows in all capital cities and major regional centers.

Many of the shows are all ages, and tickets are set to go onsale Wednesday March 18th. Supports include Architecture In Helsinki, Van She and Wolf & Cub, so stay tuned for details on specific lineups for each show in the coming weeks.

The Presets tour dates:

Wednesday May 6th – The Mangrove, Broome, WA (18+)
Friday May 8th – Breakers Café, Geraldton, WA (18+)
Sunday May 10th – Belvoir Ampitheatre, Perth, WA (18+)
Saturday May 16th – Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide, SA (All Ages)
Thursday May 21st – Festival Hall, Melbourne, VIC (All Ages)
Saturday May 23rd – Derwent Centre, Hobart, TAS (All Ages)

Notice that 80% of the events are All Ages - probably because only the underage teeny boppers will go along because they love the singles. Either way, they've toured extensively already and I'm sure I'm not alone but their second album got old very quickl
