There’s nothing like a good ‘exclusive’ competition to bring out the hardcore faithful… There’s few out there as dedicated (and obsessive) as a true-blooded dance fan, and the hardstyle lovers came out in force when ITM offered up the chance of an extra-special weekend to mark the return of the Q-dance brand to Sydney this Saturday. Sure, the prize was pretty good – you and five of your mates get checked into an exclusive hotel, picked up by the Q-dance party bus with all the headlining DJs onboard, before being wined, dined and driven to the party. But the passionate nature of many of the responses is worth taking a look at…

Firstly, we broke a few hearts with the proviso that the competition winner be over 18. “I AM A HARDSTYLE RAVER”, Jarrod from Mona Vale assured us. “When I received an email for this competition I was speechless, but then I saw the ‘winner and friends must be over 18’. Damn… Maybe Q-dance could run a competition for high school students? I would be the first person to send a reply.”

Many of the entrants also seemed pretty chuffed about Q-dance’s presence in Australia since Easter last year. “It can be summed up as pure, unconditional love for the music,” claimed Luke from Collaroy. “I’ve been there at every event before it opens until I’m kicked out. There is no one who would appreciate it more, I love it.”

Other entrants even attempted to bribe ITM with the offer of getting naked. “I have attended every q-dance event and would love to win this VIP because of my devotion towards hardstyle. I enjoy the music and love it with a PASSION,” Alice from Oakhurst assured us. “I would be the happiest person in the world that removal of clothing would happen.” Yikes!

The prize was eventually taken home by Jonathon from Picnic Point, with the following ode of devotion to the harder styles. “I live for hardstyle,” he told ITM. “I’m pretty sure it’s in my DNA now. The VIP tickets should be mine as I am the most dedicated hardstyler in Sydney! You will never find someone so passionate about hardstyle. Q-VIRUS FTW!” Who are we to argue?
