The V Festival kicked off its 2009 Australian tour in Sydney on Saturday, and after a summer’s of often-questionable weather Mother Nature surely turned on a fine display for those in attendance. Although devoid of any marquee dance acts, the event still proved to be a success with festival fans, and we’ve got the pictures to prove it!

The day’s musical highlights included the shoe-gaze electronica of Frenchman M83, the guilty pleasure of dancing to original ska rude boys Madness, UK ‘so hot right now’ duo The Kills, and an unannounced appearance from the man they call Vanilla Ice. Check the video below to see the frenzy he was able to work the crowd into during his whirlwind three-song set. Headliners The Killers also capped off the day in fine bombastic style.

Why couldn't he play the original version??? I think it is lame how he is ashamed of the song. I bet more people know the words to that rap than any other.... so sing the original not some lame arse punk hardocre version.
