Certainly one of the weirder tours likely to visit our shores in recent memory, the one and only Vanilla Ice has revealed he’ll be returning down under later in 2009 with fellow hip-hop has-been MC Hammer as part of a world tour.

Having just visited Australia, playing impromptu sets at the V Festival as part of a cheeky Right Music Wrongs campaign for Virgin Mobile, Vanilla Ice dropped the bombshell of his mooted tour when speaking with the Herald Sun in Melbourne.

“It is not set in stone at this point, but it is happening,” the rapper, real name Rob Van Winkle said while in Melbourne on the weekend. “We are, in about nine months, going to come through Australia with a big world tour – MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice.”
