It seems like only yesterday that The Met first opened their iconic doors, vying for the Brisbane clubbing public’s attention. Two years down the track, and The Met’s sound system has been smashed by some of the biggest names in the business, including 2manydjs, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, Fedde Le Grand and Basement Jaxx, as well as hosting events like Trance Energy, Decadence and the Old Skool rave reunions. With Armin van Buuren’s only Queensland show taking place at The Met early next month, there’s no denying that the club has well and truly come into its own.
This long weekend marks their momentous birthday, and the party starts on Friday May 1 with German masters Dabruck & Klein. Then on Saturday May 2 the good times continue with The Met’s resident allstars across all five rooms, while on Sunday May 3 it all winds up with perennial party favourites The Stafford Brothers and their cohorts Frank Stafford and Timmy Trumpet. inthemix would like to wish The Met a happy birthday, and we’ll see you on the dancefloor!
