With the techno heads of Perth having expressed disappointment at artists on the east coast leg of the We Love Sounds tour not making it to WA, Democracy have thankfully picked up the slack and will present not one but three huge names for one giant evening!
The show, slated for the the 5th of June in the dark depths of Ambar, will see Israeli producer Guy Gerber bringing his distinctly melodic techno to town. Gerber’s breakout single Stoppage Time caught the ear of techno pappa Sven Vath, and was promptly signed to Cocoon and he hasn’t looked back since.
Joining Gerber is one of the first ladies of techno, Anja Schneider. The label head, DJ, producer and radio personality released her debut solo album Beyond the Valley last year to high acclaim. She will showcase her diverse DJ range, which spans from deep house to minimal techno.
Rounding out the distinctly feminine lineup is Gerber’s Cocoon label-mate Dinky. A Chilean native who now resides in Berlin via New York, Dinky has played everywhere from Ibiza to the Sonar Festival, rocking out stadiums, superclubs and even ice-cream vans (don’t ask!)
With support from Soma’s Joe Stawarz, it seems techno is on a continual rise in the most isolated city in the world! Tickets to this one are sure to go fast, so don’t say you weren’t warned.
