It was inevitable… Clare Werbeloff, the 19-year-old ‘Kings Cross Bogan’ – as she’s been affectionately dubbed by her Facebook fans – has now crossed into the realm of YouTube, with her comments to a Channel 9 video crew sampled for her very own dance remix. Admittedly the work of the remixer is pretty shoddy, but it’s worth a look for a few laughs. She’s also received her very own ‘Keyboard Cat’ movie, and there’s a litany of t-shirts, coffee cups and other merchandise bearing her comments available to purchase online. Surely the clock is ticking on her 15 minutes of fame!
We were suitably impressed with the response to our very own Kings Cross Shooting meme competition and we’ve now awarded our winners. Congratulations to Anthony from Brisbane for his inspiring ‘2 Wogs Fighting’ design, which featured everyone’s favourite Italian videogame characters the Mario Brothers; a prize pack is on its way to you! We also felt that ‘Diversity’ was deserving of an accolade, so we’ll be sending some runners-up goodies to Melanie, also in Brisbane funnily enough. Finally Paul in Sydney will not go home empty handed, after all he started the Facebook group and sent us the first meme pics.
Coincidentally… actually, we’re certain it’s no coincidence at all, but embattled party-boy Corey Worthington has also reared his head this week, after quite some time out of the spotlight. Corey’s manager Max Markson spoke out of his client’s desperate search for work. “He is happy to work five days a week, he is happy to work seven days a week, he wants to work,” Markson told News.com.au. “His 15 minutes of fame is well and truly gone. He has earned some money from that, now he has to join society and get a job.”
