Touring with Stereosonic in late 2008, German dance legend DJ Hell proved to be one of the highlights of the entire summer festival season. Who could forget this rather vivid (and inadvertently hilarious) recollection of DJ Hell’s set in Melbourne from one ITMer for our recent Most Memorable Festival Moments feature?
Prior to his Stereosonic tour DJ Hell last visited Australia in the 90s, and speaking with inthemix recently for his feature podcast (download it here!) he let us know that we won’t have to wait quite so long for a return tour. “I think maybe I’ll come in October, maybe September,” he revealed. “I also want to go to China and Singapore, so it will be a round trip.”
Delving a little deeper, the International Deejay Gigolo founder was also very complimentary of the Australian scene in general, saying his eyes were opened to what we had to offer during the Stereosonic tour. “I now realise what’s going on in Australia, because to tell you the truth I didn’t know,” he remarked.
“I was there [last] in the 90s, and there was some festivals but… it was good, but it’s totally changed and now it’s like the place to go. I think I’ll have to go there once a year.”
