Hard dance superstardom awaits… Earlier this year inthemix gave several budding DJs the opportunity of a lifetime – playing the mainstage opening sets at Future Music Festival in March, as well as We Love Sounds earlier this month. The response was massive, with literally hundreds of hopefuls submitting their mixes for judging, but now we’ve got our biggest competition yet – five lucky finalists will win the chance to play the Defqon.1 Festival in Sydney this September, with the final winner flown to Holland for the main Defqon.1 event in 2010!

The debut of the Defqon.1 Festival in Australia has received its fair share of hype, and the crew from Q-dance are looking to hunt down the next generation of hard dance DJ superstars. Not only giving them a massive local audience at the Sydney event in October, but flying one lucky winner over to do their thing in the spiritual heartland of hardstyle that is the Netherlands, to play the world’s best hard dance festival!

To help find this ‘next generation’, the very best of the mixes submitted will be streamed on ITM, which will be followed by a series of DJ heats around the country. The 10 best entrants will be selected from NSW, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the NT to battle it out at the state finals in August, with special international guest Brennan Heart touring to both judge the hopefuls and perform. One finalist will be chosen from each show to play at the Australian event, with one lucky superstar chosen out of the five to fly to Holland for next year’s Defqon.1 Festival.

To be in with a chance, simply submit your DJ mix before Sunday July 12th, and make absolutely certain you read the step by step instructions and terms & conditions for entry to ensure your submission counts!

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Record your mix of no more than 30 minutes, then save it as an mp3 file at 128kbps. No files are to exceed 30 megabytes in size.

2. Name your mix in the following style: “Real name – DJ name (if applicable) – mobile number.mp3” For example: “John Smith – DJ Johnny – 0400 000 000.mp3”

3. Head to the upload page at inthemix.com.au/defqon1. Enter your name and email address, then attach your file and upload it in full.

4. Sit back and wait for the announcement of finalists here on inthemix in late July!
