Funk Club Is Playing At Ay House debuted last July at the Rosemount Hotel with the aim of trying to spread quality music to the kids around Perth who could use a lesson in all things Funk. And Soul. And Hip hop. And whatever else was going…

Episode one started up with resident Funk Club #1 Charlie Bucket serving some funky goodness and after performances by the Funk Club House Band and Fdel, ex-Avalanches DJ and all around party maestro James de la Cruz headlined the night spinning party hits to a massive crowd and kids hanging from the rafters.

This year Soul Glo and The Funk Club have Melbourne funk connoisseur DJ Manchild spinning upstairs at the Leederville Hotel on Friday July 10 with support once again from the Funk Club House Band and Charlie Bucket.

Manchild has supported everyone from Sharon Jones to Z-Trip and even The Black Keys and this, together with his legendary funk show on PBS radio, has cemented his reputation as one Australia’s finest funk DJs.
