Yep, you read right… move over Big Brother, and shove off Survivor. The big boys of Queensland clubbing The Stafford Brothers have got their own reality TV show on the way, featuring the brothers “doing what they do best”, and they’ll be filming the pilot at their gig next Friday July 3rd at The Met in Brisbane.
The mighty Stafford Brothers, who ranked #2 in last year’s inthemix50 and are a solid favourite to back it up again in this year’s poll, claim there are already two TV networks “very interested” in putting the show to air, although they’ve yet to lock down any official agreements. As well as showing them traveling and playing gigs around Australia, the camera crew will also be following the Brothers on their upcoming European adventures, which will see them landing in Ibiza for a stint of gigs.
Over here at ITM, we’ve gotta admit we’re pretty excited by the prospect of a reality TV show based on nightclub culture. Why the hell not? If Tila Tequila and Kim Kardashian are deemed worthy of the reality-show treatment, then let’s give the Stafford Brothers a whirl we reckon.
Though we have to confess our concerns that it’ll inevitably regress into the same old tricks we’ve suffered from other reality TV programs once the ratings start to slip. Turkey-slapping scandals, signing the lads up for spreads in ZOO Weekly, and when things get really bad, wheeling out Pamela Anderson for one last ditch attempt at boosting the ratings. Pitting the brothers against Timmy Trumpet in a fight to the death, perhaps? Say it ain’t so!
The Stafford Brothers coming to a television set near you? Stay tuned to ITM for details, and catch them filming their pilot next Friday July 3rd at The Met in Brisbane.
