Having just unleashed new album Music For Men, disco-punk noisemakers Gossip will return to Australia on the cusp of summer. The Sun Herald reports the band will do Sydney and Melbourne shows in November, although it seems likely they’d look further than those two cities.
While no dates have yet been revealed, a ‘source’ from Sony BMG told the Sun Herald: “It’s true that we’re trying to get Gossip out here before the end of the year. They were considering a trip in August but it’s been pushed back slightly, so it will be a full show tour rather than promo.”
Gossip was last here in 2007 to headline Meredith Music Festival, spurred by the success of third album Standing In The Way Of Control. Mercurial frontwoman Beth Ditto was in fiery form on that visit, and it’s unlikely she’ll be any mellower this time.
