The partnership between Modular and the Bang Gang crew already looked pretty healthy, as they’ve collaborated on all kinds of parties and musical pursuits over the years; but now it’s official. A new deal inked between the pair will see Modular and Bang Gang become official partners on the “business” side of things (a term they stress they use loosely), which will see certain releases on the Bang Gang 12 Inches label given some distribution muscle from the Modular stable.

The Bang Gang 12 Inches label was kicked off by crew members Doom and Hoodrat back in 2005 as an extension of the Bang Gang life philosophy, and over the years they’ve released music from artists as far reaching as Kim, Bag Raiders, Like Woah!, Shazam and Muscles.

The label is perhaps most famous for their Light Sound Dance and D Is For Disco, E Is For Dancing mix compilations. We can look forward to another release in October that will be a retrospective of the Bang Gang 12 Inches catalogue, as well as looking forward at what’s to come from the label.

And what will be the first fruit of this beautiful union? Sydney duo Bag Raiders are now officially part of the Modular stable, and they’ll be releasing their new Shooting Stars via Bang Gang 12 Inches in mid August. Of course, there will be a national tour to commemorate the occasion…
