We recently caught up with one of the most sought after producers on the planet, Diplo, to get the skinny on his latest work, that being the Major Lazer project with his frequent partner in crime, Switch. But in between tales about working in Bob Marley’s old studio and vampire-fighting mercenaries with lazer arms, Diplo let slip a few tantalizing details about the duo’s plans to bring Major Lazer to Australia.

“We’ll be there in December. I think we’ll be doing New Year’s Eve and a festival,” Diplo revealed. “It’ll be the two of us playing records and playing samples with an MC and a bunch of dancers on stage,” Diplo explained of Major Lazer’s hybrid live show.

Having frequented these shores many times, it’s hard to imagine our summers without the presence of Diplo or Switch, but to have them both here over the summer season makes us positively giddy. Now it’s just a matter of figuring out which festival we’ll get to see Major Lazer at. Detective caps on!
