The Habitat DJ Competition for 2009 wrapped last weekend and this year’s winner is Olivier Peopleinlove, who impressed the judges with his smooth mix of techy progressive that earned him a support slot for the DJ Fergie gig at Habitat in September. Olivier also wins the opportunity to join the Habitat DJ roster, $500 cash, a pair of RPDJ1200 Headphones and $200 record voucher from the DJ Factory. Finishing a close second as runner-up was Michael Whitlock who receives a $100 voucher from Mills Records.

The 2008 winner Darren J is now a regular part of the Habitat Inc crew and not only won Best New Talent at the 2008 PDMA’s, but has gone on to support some of the world’s biggest DJs including Satoshi Tommie, Stacey Pullen, Stephan Bodzin and Armin van Buuren. The level of mixing was a credit to the health of the Perth scene and all entrants are to be congratulated, well done guys, we’re sure Olivier will do you all proud.
