If The Presets’ Apocalypso album dominated the musical zeitgeist last year, then labelmates Cut Copy had a sleeper hit on their hands with their superb In Ghost Colours which racked up the critical acclaim both here and overseas. It’ll be a tough act to follow, but the trio have confirmed they’ve begun venturing into the studio to start work on their third album.
“It’s kind of funny, I think after the first record we felt like we could do anything and after the last one, we sort of had a lot more success internationally and there’s more expectations,” the band told Triple J. “I think really it’s a matter of coming back down to earth and rediscovering what we’re excited about, rather than worrying too much about other people’s expectations of the music. We’ve just sort of retreated back into our studios and started tinkering a little bit.”
