We’ve all seen the signs of the increasing technological expansion into the clubbing realm in the last few years. Big name DJs are often rocking up at their designated venue with nothing but a heavily stickered laptop under their arms and vinyl purist institutions like Vinyl Warning are shutting their doors in favour of online mp3 sales. Yet it’s not all doom and gloom as the technological progression of DJing and music production seems to be continually offering up new and exciting wares to enhance the club experience.
Case in point, check out the new Stanton Control System from the tech-elites over at Stanton. The SCS looks like the next essential controller for DJs as well as engineers thanks to its sleek, ergonomic style and what looks like a pretty dynamic interface.
We’re digging just from our first looks but those who’ve had it in their hands have been raving about the SCS, including the globe-trotting decks-man B-Side.
“They embody all the ergonomics and durability of standard hardware, but include the possibility of re-mapping a blank control device. Imagine making your own FX box or DJ mixer,” he buzzed of the SCS.
“I can finally utilize all the cool features that the DJ software offers; I get a lot more simultaneous control and no more hands stuck on the laptop. I get to really DJ again, and not look like I’m checking my e-mail.”
B-Side is about to hit the road to celebrate the launch of Stanton’s new beauty and will be joined by the likes of Kid Kenobi, Crucial D and DJ Kuya for the three dates!
SCS Launch Dates:
Tuesday, August 11th, Loop Bar, Melbourne [B-Side, Kid Kenobi, DJ Kuya]
Wednesday August 12th, View Bar, Home Nightclub, Sydney [B-Side, Kid Kenobi, Crucial D]
Thursday August 13th, Middle Bar, Empire Hotel, Brisbane [B-Side, Crucial D]
