The big announcements keep coming! With the dates and details for Tiesto’s Kaleidoscope tour landing on ITM this morning, the first announcement for 2010’s Soundwave festival have also emerged, and it looks like a doozy!

We normally wouldn’t devote much space to a festival like Soundwave, but looking at the lineup for next year, they’ve stacked it out with some huge acts to truly grab our attention!

Announcing their reformation in early 2009, it has only been two months since Faith No More made their triumphant return to the stage at the Brixton Academy in London. After weeks of mumblings and a few hints from Mike Paton himself, it is with much fanboy-ish excitement that the alternative metal legends have been confirmed as the headliners for Soundwave 2010.

Joining Faith No More will be a host of big names like AFI, Trivium and My Chemical Romance, as well as Finnish rockers HIM, Jesse Hughes’ Eagles Of Death Metal and enduring metal icons Anvil. Another coup for the festival is the announcement that last-minute Splendour pull-outs, Jane’s Addiction, will finally make their long-awaited return to Australia as part of Soundwave 2010.

The first line-up for Soundwave 2010:

Faith No More
My Chemical Romance
Janes Addiction
AFI
Paramore
HIM
Alexisonfire
Taking Back Sunday
Trivium
Sunny Day Real Estate

Unbelievably happy - been listening to FNM since I can remember. Looks like a second year in a row I'll be going to soundwave, wanting to see only like 5 of the bands.
