The world #1 DJ Armin van Buuren was also named Australia’s #1 international DJ at the Sony inthemix50 awards earlier this week, with the smiling Dutchman taking the trophy for ‘Favourite International Act’, and in his acceptance speech video he gave yet another indication ‘Armin Only’ would be making another appearance in his “favourite country in the world” in 2010. We can only dream…
“I hope to see you next year,” Armin told the crowd on Wednesday night. “I’m thinking about bringing ‘Armin Only’ back downunder. I know a lot of you have been requesting for me to bring the big party back, but I’m working on my new album so I hope to finish it in time for next year.”
Armin sent out his love to his Australian fans as well as Future Entertainment, thanking them for the continued support, and he also found some space in his speech to thank ITM itself. “I’d like to thank everybody at inthemix.com.au, incredible website and I go on there myself sometimes.” Blush.
Armin’s comments only serve to even further ramp up hopes and expectations. Anyone who was lucky enough to be at one of the ‘Armin Only’ shows will know that it’s about as good as it gets when it comes to big-scale dance events. One of the world’s most elite DJs behind the wheels for a whole nine hours, complimented by vocalists, live performers, production and more? Epic win.
