Following this week’s new that Massive Attack would be giving us an EP of new material later this year as a teaser of sorts for their new album in 2010, it’s now been revealed they’ll be bringing their live show back to Australia around February. Keep the awesome news coming!
Massive Attack member Daddy G spoke to Triple J guru Richard Kingsmill this week. “We’re coming over soon so that’s going to be great isn’t it. We’ll be over there sort of February,” he said, also going into more detail on the new album and spilling the beans that they’ve been working with DFA Records co-founder Tim Goldsworthy on nailing it down.
“This album’s kind of the second bite of the cherry in a way because we went on tour last year and we prepared basically 8 of the 10 tracks that we were going to do for the album… When we came back from tour me and Gene reconvened in the studio and found out that we wanted to approach it from a different angle, you know? So we got Tim Goldsworthy on board, we’ve been doing some beats and stuff with Tim. It’s kind of change really. Quite a lot of the tracks have started up in the last six months or so.”
Stay tuned for more details about Massive Attack’s 2010 tour!
