Trance fans were shocked in the best possible with the news in July that not only would Ferry Corsten be back in September, but that he’d also be visiting under the mighty Cream banner and bringing the full ‘Twice In A Blue Moon: The Experience’ setup he’s been touring around the world this year. Just what can we expect exactly? Ferry himself got on the phone recently with ITM to give us an idea.
“We decided earlier this year to come up with this concept, ‘Twice In A Blue Moon: The Experience’ which is basically a concert show around Twice in a Blue Moon where I play all the tracks off the album, and have some of the people who worked with me on the album performing live. We’ve also built the whole production show around it with pyrotechnics and visuals,” Ferry told ITM. “The album is basically all done in a visual way, so it’s a whole show built around the album, rather than just another DJ set.”
Ferry says he’ll be bringing the same setup he’s been touring with since its debut in Malaysia. “It’s a very recognisable setup, there’s a certain type of rigging we’ve used, and there’s a massive LED wall in front of the DJ booth.” It’s already known that Betsy Larkin will be there to provide live vocals, alongside Melbourne native Julie Messenger, but Ferry was tightlipped as to who else we can expect on stage.
Most importantly though, he says he’s pumped to return to Australia after this killer visit over New Years. “It was such an amazing tour and the response of the crowd was just really, really good, I just had so much fun. I usually let a year and a half or so pass before I go back to Australia, but this time I said ‘you know what…’ I really wanted to get back another time this year if possible.”
Stay tuned for ITM’s full audio interview with Ferry Corsten, and catch him at the following dates during September:
Thu Sep 10 – Brisbane, Family
Fri Sep 11 – Melbourne, Palace Metro Theatre
Sat Sep 12 – Sydney, Hordern Pavilion
