The Rainbow Serpent festival was bigger than ever in 2009, with more than 10,000 people in attendance, and it’s locked to return again in the opening weeks of 2010 with a special launch event lined up for the October Long Weekend to wet your whistle. A tiny sample of what we can expect from the full-blown festival experience, the crew will be taking over the Mercat Cross for their annual indoor gathering.

A special international guest onboard to help get the party happening will be Atmos, from the Spiral Trax label in Sweden, and he’ll have local support from Antix, Sun Control Species, Gavin Martin, Tim Harvey and Punksonjunk in the main room for a groovy concoction of psytrance, progressive and techno.

In the second room, things will be getting real minimal, with performances from Simon Slieker, Dave Pham, Jonny Mac and Cecile, to get those deep backroom grooves going.
