Fridays @ Family, Queensland’s longrunning favourite weekly night in this year’s Sony inthemix50 and a long standing institution of Australian Trance is getting a revamp – for a summer of Family love with Fridays @ Family Remixed.
Starting Friday October 2, the Fridays @ Family formula will get a big mix up, bringing three genres across three different rooms. The mainroom will continue to see the big name trance acts come through, starting with Australia’s queens of trance Bexta and Amber Savage battling it out, but will also see a bit of party electro and ass-shakin’ house, with TV Rock, Ruby Rose and Organ Donors on the October bill. The new Mainroom residents will include Baby Gee, Harry K, Karma, Loz, Coxy and Rayne Fouche smashing Family’s EAW Avalon sound system with the customary state of the art lighting, visuals and 2W multicoloured laser still in place.
Meanwhile, The Pod will be transformed into the home for Trance of Tomorrow, with residents tyDi, Syke, Dynasty, Hektic and Friends & Enemiez belting the beats out. RnB, soul and funk will continue to splash out in the Cocktail Ice Bar with Gavin Boyd, Oscar V, Vita and Danny Cool behind the wheels of steel.
This counts as a revolutionary movement among Queensland’s dance ranks as the mainroom for Fridays @ Family has gained a reputation for hosting the biggest names in trance, and more recently, hard dance and hardstyle. Thankfully, the mainroom will continue to do so. The war on words will no doubt wage on in forums and in whispers around the dance community as to whether the new format is welcome or unwanted. Either way, Fridays @ Family Remixed is turning up the amps for Friday nights!
Check out the new format for Friday @ Family from Friday October 2nd!
