When discussing anything dance with the big and not-so-big names in the industry, that dance needs to go back underground is an issue that is universally agreed upon. So two years ago when a bid to bring the fun and subversive nature back to dance music was introduced by local crew Colours, local dance devotees were extremely enthusiastic to join Fuzion and Elliot Clarke’s bandwagon. Since Kana’s first party amid a bunch of email messages, text messages, cryptic notes and hushed whispers led revellers to the Fortitude Valley Station carpark, Kana has since gone on to redefine the emphasis between space, the people and the music, with Kana parties since featured on South Bank’s Goodwill Bridge, The Abandoned Air Raid Shelters on the Riverside Walk, as well as The William Jolly Bridge – feats in themselves as the locations have all been inner city areas with little or no access to power and the coppers mere moments away to shut the party down.

Their 2nd birthday party will continue in the same vein of urban guerrilla coups, with celebrations to be held at yet another undisclosed inner-city venue this Sunday September 27. With instructions being available three hours prior to kick off, the tunes and beats of Fuzion, Fergus Alexander, Baax, Worth, Leo Hed and Elliot Clarke will certainly be the icing on the cake as Festival Season is underway. Happy 2nd Birthday Kana!

Kana’s Second Birthday hits a secret location this Sunday 27th September!
