With rumours flying all around the net it’s obvious the hunger is huge for news on Big Day Out, Australia’s biggest and most successful national tour, and the first round announcement for the 2010 tour has finally landed. Check it out below!

Heading up the lineup or this year’s Big Day Out tour are the ‘Knights of Cydonia’ themselves Muse, known for sporting a live show big enough to shake Wembley Stadium to its very foundations. They’re joining by an ensemble of local and international rock acts that includes The Mars Volta, Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe and heaps more.

On the dance music tip, live heavyweights Groove Armada will be making their Big Day Out debut as well as Calvin Harris and mashup king Girl Talk, who will also both be bringing their party vibes to the festival for the first time. On the indie-dance vibe there’s also plenty to offer with Ladyhawke, Midnight Juggernauts, Tame Impala and more playing the tour.

The boiler room line up is getting worse every year, it is not even worth getting out of bed for. Think I will spend my hard earned $140.00 elsewhere.

charzii

charzii said on the 29th Sep, 2009

So odd, The Mars Volta are scheduled in for other gigs during that period elsewhere!?

GIRL TALK to many locals though, there should only be one aussie headliner, not eskimo joe, powderfinger and grinspoon.

I agree with I love macguyver - not just because of their name. lame second tier rock acts and wishy washy festival staples. Where's the kraftwerk/janes addiction/neworder/metallica level heavyweights of previous years?????

was hoping the Bowie rumours were true, but Girl Talk and Dizzee will be suitably nutso. Juggers will also thump the main stage.

BDO tickets are like $130, thats the price of say 3 headline acts if you saw them separately, except BDO brings you about 30 acts for the price of 3... While it might not compare to the line ups they brought out 10 years ago its still a quality line up co

Nicko-67

Nicko-67 said on the 29th Sep, 2009

has some decent acts but the not enough to warrant a ticket purchase. why didnt groove armarda and calvin harris play at a more dance music orientated festival?

thecube

thecube said on the 29th Sep, 2009

I think this line up shows that the BDO crew have become pretty complacent... they know it'll sell out either way because of all the teeny boppers so they just cbf putting any effort into sourcing new or interesting talent anymore.

YAWN. Over priced and over hyped. No variety in their lineup, and they recycle the same acts every few years..eg.grinspoon,powderfinger,etc. It was better in the 90's and 00,01.
