Continuing the charmed run of Big Day Out 2010, the Gold Coast event sold out yesterday and all general release tickets to the Melbourne event were pounced on this morning. The Melbourne sell-out is a watershed for the festival, as this January’s romp at Flemington Racecourse sold slower than the likes of Gold Coast and Sydney.

If you hail didn’t claim one of the 45,000 coveted tickets today, 5000 tickets have been withheld for the online ballot. Each week 500 tickets for the 2010 Melbourne BDO will be made available on their website via an online randomly drawn ballot. You’ll need to try your luck if you’re keen to party with Muse, The Horrors, The Mars Volta and the rest, and if you missed out on a ticket to the from Gold Coast show then you’ll also be in for a chance, as an online ballot has been announced as well.
