Our rock-minded brethren over at FasterLouder have been in a veritable tizzy this morning, gushing about the latest round of artists to be added to 2010’s pretty mammoth-looking Soundwave Festival. Looking over the second announcement ourselves, we’re similarly blown away, because, regardless of any standing allergies to straightened-fringes and black-clad outfits, this is damn huge.

Joining an already pimped out line-up that includes the likes of Faith No More and Jane’s Addiction, are enduring androgynous rockers Placebo. Lead by haircut chameleon Brian Molko, it will be the first time in three years that the band have hit our shores and the first time Australian audiences will get to hear tracks from their new album Battle For The Sun.

Joining Molko and the boys will be vintage metal overlords Anthrax, UK punks Enter Shikari and one more super secret band still to come. They’ve definitely got us hooked now.
