Australian punters are seemingly spoilt for choice this summer, with a cavalcade of big name acts descending on our country for a slew of super-sized festivals and events. Yet, with such an urban-centric focus found on the summer calender, you’d be excused for getting a little overwhelmed by it all. Fortunately, an alternative is in sight, with the first details for the new Subsonic Music Festival now emerging.
Brought together by beat and techno aficionados Subsonic Music, Earthdance Sydney, Deep As Funk and Summer Dreaming, the inaugural Subsonic Music Festival will escape the urban scrawl for a packed-out weekend of otherworldly entertainment this December 4th, 5th and 6th.
Set in the serene riverside location of Barrington Pops’ Mountain Valley Resort that’s about two and a half hours outside of Sydney, Subsonic Music Festival will take festival goers into a picture-perfect environment, encouraging all to get involved in the workshops, markets, art-installations and, of course, the stacked-out lineup of artists.
Festival organisers have put together a tasty looking lineup of locals and internationals, spearheaded by Kiwi reggae mainstays Salmonella Dub, as well as tech-house supremo Jamie Jones and local heroes K-Oscillate. The first lineup is apparently just the tip of the ice with more international and local names to be announced later this month.
Subsonic Music Festival lineup:
