It’s an age-old ITM tradition that when the annual Good Vibrations festival... [more]
For dance music fans it’s been a grueling lead-up to the first details of beloved summer festival Good Vibrations. The last few months have seen a host of hints and tip-offs about the epic festival’s always-big lineup tease fans starting with the news that the late DJ AM had been locked in to play the festival in 2010. This week we heard word that hyped US rapper Kid Cudi would be making the trip out for the festival, yet still hungry for more news, festival goers have been on a wild goose chase trying to decipher cryptic clues from GVF organizers Jam Music, deducing the lineup’s big stars. At last though, the wait is over, as today the Good Vibrations lineup for 2010 officially drops and as is tradition with the festival, there’re plenty of surprises in store.
Heading up the Good Vibes lineup for next year is none other than synthed-up stadium rockers The Killers, and whilst they might seem like a curveball choice for the festival, it’s just an indication of the scale of Good Vibrations. Keeping the Las Vegas lads company will be festival favourites Basement Jaxx, touching down with their new Scars album in hand, as well as globe-trotting club maestro Armand Van Helden.
Sticking to the tried and tested formula of Good Vibes, the lineup strikes a balance between a host of different genres, with hip hop fans being well represented with the likes of Busta Rhymes, Naughty By Nature and Salt-N-Pepa and dance heads getting DJs like Dave Seaman, Plump DJs and Z-Trip and indie-dance acts Friendly Fires and The Gossip.

P.S Days like This just keeps looking better and better
pusseh says...
this is impressive .. would love to see gym class heroes and naughty by nature !!
cstead says...
Pretty pathetic. They charge a price that says 'we have the best line-up in town' and then headline it with bands that are here every other month. The old school Hip Hop is rad, but probably worth $40 at best.

Future WINS!

BMoney says...
I love Seaman. True story.
ionecoe says...
There's not usually too many side shows to go along with GV.. Loving the more indie aspects of this line up.. Exciting!!
lanesra23 says...
Not every festival can be expected to pull out awesome headline acts like Soundwave and Laneway. Vibes is simply following the trend of all the other big 'party' festivals in 2010 (SFD, BDO, Future) by booking uninspired headline acts.
dowlz says...
naughty by nature!!!!

buffysband says...
It's not a very exciting line-up.
primus says...
ticket prices are out of control now days! Lineup not bad, but $145 is a bit rich... Soundwave lineup is killer and is only $5 more.....
Peakin Pecan says...
Not a chance... thats a big negative from me

Obviously the guys hate the line up. But I don't know one chick who doesn't love dancing in underwear to Salt n Peppa. So at least if there's one positive, it shouldn't be a sausage-fest boys ;-)

ryanjohns says...
totally gay. you've broke my heart good vibrations. you were my last hope for a good lineup :(
Aftertouch says...
SALT N PEPA
colinzeal81 says...
It saddens me that Good Vibes has abandoned Dub and Reggae, and Dubstep even (WHY ARE THERE NO DUBSTEP DJs PLAYING AT ANY OF THE FESTIVALS?!!!! Easily the biggest underground dance genre currently). Sly and Robbie would have been an obvious choice 5 years ago when this festival was legitamate and not a cash cow.
colinzeal81 says...
Tired and reptitive acts, surely there was someone else apart from The Killers and Basement Jaxx we could have brought out here - they both did the festival circuit this year. This lineup is beyond average. Naughty by Nature? Please they haven't done anything in ages and Busta Rhymes and Salt n Peppa in their day were leaders but now are nothing more than novelty acts, this is nothing compared to Pharcyde and Q-Tip last year or Monche the year previous. All I am asking is for some ORIGINALITY in the choices that these festival promoters make. This is nothing more than a cheap money earner.
natty91 says...
nothing new to me
Gouldy says...
great for hip hop and turntabilism lovers... very, very shit for dance lovers
NTrance1 says...
another party that is easy to pass by, similarly to Parklife ... nothing exciting on that line up

k5gsxr says...

mad_scott says...
Z-trip is the man. Didn't come to Perth last year and I'm not missing him this year. He's the nicest bloke as well. Salt N Pepa should be interesting
separatevolume says...
The Killers headlined V-Fest 09. Basement Jaxx headlined Future 09. Armand Van Helden headlined Sounds 09. Welcome to Good Vibes 2010: The Recycled Festival.
Haggy says...
with all the competition with all the other festivals i thought they would have lashed out a bit, i think its a big swing and a miss here for GV, 1st one missed in 4 years
svenbooka says...

F*&^% You Good Vibes!! I%u2019m still recovering from the BAD no wait F*&^%#$& Sh*& Vibes from the last 2 I attended!! You lure people in with a awesome sounding line up only to let the entire festival community down with the WORST facilities (in particular putting headlining acts in teeny tiny tents which you cant even get into i.e. Cypress Hill!!), Horrible Agro Crowds and Disgusting Prices. SHAME ON YOU!! Why is it that every other Festival can get their acts together and put on an awesome event which gets better and better each year and Good Vibes just seem to deteriorate!! You could promise me Jimmy Hendrix will be there "risen from the dead" and I would still rather kill myself than attend! I have been attending Future Music Festival since the 1st one in 06 and it has got better and better every year, Go FUTURE!! P.s To Good Vibes Promoters - Thanks for the kitty litter liner, those posters you plastered all down my street are doing a great job @ soaking up my cat's piss.
