After much anticipation, Jam Music finally revealed the lineup for their Good Vibrations Festival in 2010 last week, but as every self-respecting ITMer will know, prior to the announcement there were a series of cryptic clues hinting at what artists might be playing on the tour. While last year the savvy ITM community pretty much cracked the code entirely, this time the clues were just so tough that we were pretty much left stumped. Smashing Pumpkins? Dandy Warhols? Infected Mushroom? Yep, not quite…
That’s not to say that a few of you didn’t display some impressive investigative skills, as Busta Rhymes, The Killers and The Gossip were among the successful guesses. As for the rest though… Even now that we’ve got the lineup in front of us, here at ITM we still weren’t able to decipher those cryptic clues! So in the interest of maintaining our sanity, Jam Music have provided us with the answers so check them out below…
Clue #01 – Image = pumpkin = Cinderella = spinderella
Clue #02 – YouTube = Travis famously covered this song and started a trend of rock/indie bands covering pop songs for viral attention. Travis = Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes)
Clue #03 – Image Vegas – double headed refernce to Travis Mccoy (Via Katy Perry) and also The Killers
Clue #04 – Text: Epic Records: #7464-40471-1 = The The = one ‘the’ too many. Like Gossip, who are often called The Gossi!
Clue #05 – Image Courtney Love was the inspiration for Tori Amos’ Professional Widow – famously remixed by Armand Van Helden
Clue #06 – YouTube Captain Pugwash reputedly had a controversial character called ‘Seaman Staines’ = Dave Seaman
Clue #07 – YouTube Run DMC, this track was nicely covered by Sam Obernik
Clue #08 – Image Paul Dinello featured in the motion picture ‘Plump Fiction’ = Plumps
Clue #09 – Text: The confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers = Gossip, hailing from Portland
Clue #10 – Link Track 25 ‘Space’ provided the backbone of Busta Rhymes ‘Woo Haa’
