Far be it for inthemix to delve too deep into hyperbole and online gossip (granted, we do love a good piece of questionable news juice), but some things are just too good to pass up. Case in point, when some local tour dates announcing the local return of French electro titans Daft Punk emerged online, we couldn’t help but run some news.
As spotted on the Last.fm profile page for the robotic duo, two Australian dates have emerged, speculating that Daft Punk’s beloved pyramid is due to touch down in both Sydney and Melbourne next winter – that’s August 22nd and August 28th respectively.
Whilst it’s already come to light that Daft Punk would once again hit the road next year in support of their Tron Legacy film score, supporting the leaked dates, we’re going to keep from going overboard with excitement incase this is just a case of internet duping. Indeed, that the rumoured Sydney show falls on a Sunday next year lends credibility to the theory that this is a cruel hoax. But still, that won’t stop us dreaming of robots tonight…

Aug 22nd – Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney
Aug 28th – Olympic Park, Melbourne
