It’s been some time since sleepy Adelaide found a genre that has made them stand up and take notice. Dubstep is taking the world by storm, and has recently moved into the hearts and minds of locals to really take hold. Thanks to local dubstep gods Counterpart and Moshman, their Pleasure parties at the Queens Arms have become a home for this sub-bass wonder, the perfect venue in its out of the way location.
Due to the rising success of Pleasure, the organisers decided there needed to be a 6 month ‘birthday’ bash to give the punters something back for their show of support. And what better date than Friday the 13th!
Joining the party are Affiks & A13 from Melbourne. The pair has been responsible for introducing Melbourne to the dubstep, future beats and glitch-hop sounds that have spawned from underground studios all over the globe, and will be flying down to show us how they do it in Melbourne. Other locals include Jayar, Strife, Asterix, Rouge, Macro, Desh, Gunda G, Moshman and Counterpart.
This summer is shaping up to be the one that puts Dubstep on the map in Adelaide and if the last few parties are anything to go by then this one is not to be missed. Big room sound, sub-bass beats, live visuals, stupidly cheap booze, beer garden and chill out area. Doors open at 9pm, be early to avoid disappointment
Pleasure hits the Queens Arms on Friday 13th November.
