Summer is in the air and that means that its time Perth’s favourite temporary outdoor venue The Beck’s Music Box to return to the city. Located on the picturesque Esplanade foreshore, the Music Box has for the past 2 years played host to one of the most diverse and exciting live music series the city has ever witnessed. The likes Feist playing in 2007 and Tony Allen and Optimo DJs getting their groove on last season, it’s no surprise this year packs a heavy punch.

Opening night kicks off in style with the deep funk, soul and jazz of LA based Breakestra who will be joined at the after party by DJ J-Rocc, one of the original turntablists and founding member of seminal instrumental hip-hop force the Beat Junkies. The closing party also featured Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and legendary globetrotting world music and jazz DJ Gilles Peterson. As always, these shows will sell so out so best be quick if you want in, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
