The second round of the Stereosonic Festival’s massive five-date Australian tour wrapped up over the weekend, returning for its biggest event yet in its hometown of Melbourne for an event that entertained more than 30,000 people on Saturday. However, the rest of the country wasn’t to be left out either with massive events going off in both Brisbane and Adelaide too. Were you one of the thousands and thousands who got amongst it on the weekend? Check out some of the finest moments!

Music wise, the shows were another slice of clubbing madness. Deadmau5 proved why he’s one of the most talented electronic performers to emerge in recent memory, while Axwell again delivered a set of punchy house that couldn’t have been any tighter. Laurent Garnier, Marco Carola and Umek made sure the festival had underground cred to burn, smashing it in every state, while the Bloody Beetroots surprised nobody by inciting mass mayhem wherever they went. Predictable!

ITM was there to cover every step of the mighty Stereosonic Festival. Photos, reviews, ITM.TV episodes, you name it. Shoot over to our Festival Page for more info, or check out some of the very best content from the tour below…

Deadmau5? Talented? If you consider boring the Brisbane crowd so badly that they were pushing to get out 25mins into his set....dullest festival set in my 10 years of attending festivals.

Stereosonic Brisbane was easily the most poorly organised shittest festival I have ever been to!!!!! Eagle farm racecourse is a joke of a venue and was way to small for the amount of people which were there. They say they did market research on the no shirt policy what about venue size and crowd capacity you idiots? The promoters should be ashamed I will never attend Stereosonic again or a festival run by one love or hardware and I lost count how many other people who went said the same.Everything was extremely difficult to do whether it was lining up to get in for 30min in 40degree heat or trying to get a drink of any sort or food or going to the toilet or even trying to move from stage to stage it was pathetic everything was time consuming and way to hard then there was the late change to the Bloody Beetroots set times which wasnt advertised at all at the venue and a change which many did not have a clue about there was many who were there just to see the beetroots who missed out because of another un professional orgnaisational f*#k up by the organisers, then on top of all that the sound was terrible often distortion could be heard from many of the acts sound the scabby promoters could not even invest in decent audio equipment then to top it off with Deadmau5 easily the worst headline act Ive ever seen by a long way!!! After 30min over half the crowd had disappeared due to the lackluster, boring repititve shit he was throwing out I was a big fan of Deadmau5 and was looking forward to him all day but I was nearly falling asleep and left halfway through extremely dissapointed never again for Stereosonic

IMO Deadmau5 was awesome, while it was obvious alot of people weren't getting it... I loved it, found it emotive and he managed to chill me well out and then pumped it up again. *shrugs* it was exactly what I was expecting him to do. The setup however, was rather crap, everything took forever and I had to stand there with my left finger in my ear at the main stage because of the bounce back of the grandstands.

Yeah guys, a quick word of advise. Don't give good reviews to events that were absolutely shit because it destroys your credibility. I (thankfully) sold my ticket to my brother at the last minute and after the feedback he's given me I almost feel guilty about doing it. Set time changes, STAGE CHANGES (Unacceptable and worthy of a refund in my opinion), poor sound quality and clueless staff. As for Deadmau5, just goes to prove that being a talented producer doesn't equate to a high quality live performance.

ok...deadmau5 as a producer/performer is ultimatly the best thing around at the moment. his music creates such energy and such atmosphere u lose ur shit. its not his fault that stereosonic did not have enough speakers to let everyone feel his shit. because OMG it could not have got more epic Half an hour in. sucked in to all u suckers u left the set early because it got so good towards the end. ill agree if u were in with the masses at the front and coulnd here shit then it woulda been a bad experiance. but if u chilled at the back where there was some rear speakers, omg it was just u the mau5 and the sound. so f****n good. never had i felt such energy. the quality he emposes on his music is amazing, nuff said. if you think deadmau5 is not talented listen to one of his cd's and i guarentee you will never say that again. when he played strobe people just lost there shit literally, my mate had to sit down for five minutes just to re-cooperate. deadmau5 bringing atmosphere and quality back to dance music.

guys, cut a bit of slack.. i was lucky enough to attend Stereosonic Adelaide, and i have to say it was the best thing i've seen recently.. Beetroots killed it, as did Ajax, Harris Robotis, Fedde and Axwell.. and as for Deadmau5.. i thought he was amazing. you can't go to see deadmau5 thinking his going to play his commercial shit like Ghosts and Stuff and Hi Friend, etc... if you're a real fan then it would have been amazing. like c'mon, just because he didn't play heartbreaker, pon de floor and Lyposuct like every 2nd DJ did doesn't make it a shit set.. he came and he killed it! the stage set up in adelaide was good.. sound system was good, other than Crookers being a little low on volume.. personally, i thought it was on par with We love Sounds 09

Emmm, Sydney was poorly organised. Only about half the people who wanted to see the Bloody Beets got in... coppers are lucky they didn't face a riot.. was close. Alter Ego surprised me, best set i've heard him play. Deadmau5.... emmm, not sure why he is the most popular but anyway.. Surkin and Crookers were my favs by far

deadmau5 is easily one of the best producers/performers going around. not boring in the slightest, an epic set. With a perfect intro which built into pumping last 45 minutes! Worst festival set up i have ever seen though, such poor sound quality and getting a drink was a nightmare! Future entertainment cerianly have the edge over hardware and one love! bring on summadayze!
