It’s a disappointing day for Adelaide, as a great event set to launch on NYE has been cancelled. Adelaide Alive was a new festival for the Eclipse event team, who always manage to put on a great show. None the less, in a city that’s usually starved for action, Adelaide is spoiled for choice in the coming month, with three festivals scheduled for the New Year party period.
STATEMENT FROM ECLIPSE ENTERTAINMENT
“It is with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of the “ALIVE NEW YEARS EVE” event at Etsa Stadium. Eclipse Entertainment take great pride in trying to attract world class artists to South Australia and most of the time those efforts are rewarded with wonderful support. Unfortunately in this case and likely due to the significant increase in the number of events taking place over this period this year, ticket sales have just not been enough to justify such a large scale venture. This was a huge decision to have to make, but one where common sense is something that needs to prevail.
Tremendous amounts of time and effort were expelled trying to effect an amalgamation of ALIVE NYE with HEAVEN ON EARTH to cushion the blow and potentially maximize the public’s value for money at this event, but unfortunately the only artist that was able to be added to their lineup was JOHN COURSE. Many of the other acts will be redirected into alternate events so stay tuned for announcements over the coming days.
