It’s been confirmed that New Zealand’s favourite rapper Scribe, will be supporting London’s hip hop party boy Dizzee Rascal for his BDO sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne this January.

Scribe enjoyed nearly overnight success when his smash single Not Many, shot to the top of the charts in 2003. The debut album The Crusade has since gone platinum five times over, making this Kiwi rapper not only the most successful hip hop act, but the most successful artist to come out of New Zealand full stop.

Known for his hard-hitting rhymes and ferocious presence onstage, Scribe has made a name for himself in the international hip hop community, performing alongside some of the scene’s finest talent, including Lady Sovereign, KRS-1, Jadakiss and now the UK’s foremost rap superstar, Dizzee Rascal.

Coasting on the recent success of his wildly popular collaboration Dance Wiv Me with Calvin Harris and club hit Bonkers (featuring Armand Van Helden), the most recent release off of 2009’s Tongue ‘n Cheek, Holiday, is sure to be one of Australia’s favourite summer anthems. Merging the sounds of hip hop, electronic, garage and grime while spitting clever lines with speed and conviction, Rascal, who likes nothing more than to see everyone having a good time, never fails to bring his fun-loving mentality to the stage.

Dizzee and Scribe hit Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Sunday, January 24 and Melbourne’s The Forum on Thursday, January 28.
