There’s little doubt that Onelove is one of Australia’s most enduring and successful clubbing brands, clocking in more than 500 nights at The Prince in Melbourne and holding down a three-year residency in Sydney to boot. But all good things come to an end, as Onelove has just announced it’ll be taking a well deserved break from hosting weekly Saturday nights.

“It has been a long and exhilarating journey, a journey which we will all remember fondly for years to come,” then organisers said in a statement. “It is time for us to draw the curtains on our weekly club nights around Australia and so we say farewell but not goodbye to all our friends, customers, artists and loyal staff and we would like to tell you all how extremely grateful we are for all the support you have shown to us over the long distance!”

However, this is hardly the end for Onelove. In the coming months they’ll be throwing regular parties showcasing existing themes will including Onelove itself, as well as Outrage, ‘onelove classics’ events as well as the launch of several new brands. In the meantime, they’ll be having one last party for the year of December 26th.

The news comes at the end of what’s otherwise been a massive year for the Onelove crew, that has seen them collaborating with artists, labels and brands as diverse as The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers, A-Trak, Dirty South, John Dahlback, Toolroom, Future Disco, Raw Fm and more. They say to not expect things to slow down at all in 2010.

Onelove’s final parties for 2009:

Saturday December 26 – Prince Bandroom, Melbourne
Saturday December 26 – The Bourbon, Sydney

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

Could sense it was failing when the promoters took it to the Bourbon.
