Sydneysiders were already chuffed at the news late last year that Steve Lawler and James Lavelle would be visiting as part of the Playground Weekender festival, joining a massive lineup that also includes the likes of Orbital, Gui Boratto, Mark Farina and heaps more. Clubbers from interstate always knew they weren’t going to miss out though, and it’s just been revealed that the two of them will both be playing exclusive club shows while they’re in the country, set to dominate some of our favourite darkened spaces across the country.
Neither artist needs much introduction at all. James Lavelle is one of dance msuic’s most enigmatic figures, both as the driving force behind UNKLE as well as the head of the now deceased Mo’ Wax label. He’s also an accomplished DJ who’s transcended all genres and styles over the years. Steve Lawler on rthe other hand continues to reign as king of deep, dark, nasty club music, famed around the world for his driving club sets. Both underground titans will be playing a particularly massive show together at Brown Alley on Friday 19th February.
If you’re hoping to catch more of Playground Weekender’s acts across the country, glitchy dubstep duo 16 Bit will also be venturing outside of Sydney while they’re out on tour. More national dates to be announced y’all…
